Mr Samson

My character is very cold hearted as he feels let down by his son turning into a beetle, but at heart he still loves his son but does not want to show it as he feels embarrassed.

There is a part in the play when Mr Samson shows a part of compassion when they are about to feed Gregor, this showed that Mr S still loved his son as he did eventually help with the feeding by supplying goods such as the left over over night smelly stew.

My character is aged 46 or may be older also looks older. Family does not have enough money as Gregor is the only working person in the household. He  wants to get rid of Gregor as he turned into a beetle. Gets easily annoyed also genreally disagrees with the family.

I’ll perform this by my emotions on my face which will be sad and strussed I’ll show this by showing a frown on my face and looking lost by looking towards the floor. My body was also be dropped like it’s melting as it shows the audience that I’m not even strong enough to hold myself up. Finally the way I talk will be aggressive most of the time as I lose my anger quickly.

Porphyria’s Lover

The poem is written as one long stanza, this called a dramatic monologue.

The author reacts to the presence of Porphyria in a warm way. As soon as she entered “she shut the cold out and the storm”, this creates an image of when she enters she enters with warmth as all cold and bad things which is represented by the storm is left outside.

Compare how the poems ‘Neutral Tones’ and ‘When We Two Partrd’ represent the ending of a relationship.

Both poems have many similarities, but a thing that stands out is the subject as the subject is what the poem is about. They’re both about break ups, we know that they are about break ups as for the poem ‘when we two parted’ the clue is in the title as parted means they are breaking signifying that this poem is about a break up. I think this is a good trait as the reader instantly knows what the poem is about and does not have to guess about what they think the poem is about.

How does Carol Ann Duffy explore ideas about the relationship

‘When We Two Partied’ by Lord Byron

My prediction about the poem is about a relationship which has broken up and they have both gone on different routes of life as they have parted.

1. Parted, Broken, Sever, Pale and Colder

3. Verse 2 tells me that the poet is telling us what he felt on a certain morning. On this certain morning he felt a warning the warning was a cold chill on his brow. He said feeling ashamed as his remembering what happened for example thy vows were all broken, he feels betrayed because she broke them.
